CITY OF ATLANTA RESOLUTION PROCEDURE
Resolution is a way for two or more parties to find a solution to a disagreement. Disagreements occur in community garden, farm, and food system work. Appropriately responding to disagreements is a learned skill and practice.
By participating in urban agriculture programs on city land you agree to these objectives:
To cultivate your own skills in communication and resolution.
To practice listening and responding with respect, and to improve (vs. damage) relations between parties in disagreement.
To work toward a solution that all parties can agree to.
To work efficiently to find this solution.
By participating in urban agriculture programs on city land you agree to participate in the Code of Conduct, Informal, and Formal Resolution Procedure.

RESOLUTION PROCEDURE
WHICH PROCESS IS BEST FOR ME?
Informal Resolution provides a space for the parties in disagreement to try to resolve a disagreement independent of the City of Atlanta. Parties can: 1) visit the Resolution Resource Page to find tools, trainings, and resources to cultivate their skills in communication and resolution ; and/or 2) apply for a session with an independent, third party mediator, pro-bono.
Formal Resolution process is available if: 1)Informal Resolution does not lead to a solution parties are willing to abide by; 2) it feels like a more appropriate and safer step; 3) you believe a violation of the Code of Conduct has occurred; 4) or the disagreement is with a City of Atlanta staff member.
