Forest Restoration in the Urban Food Forest at Browns Mill

Help with ongoing care of the Urban Food Forest at Browns Mill. Our focus at this project is removing the aggressively growing plants to help promote a healthy plant community. Activities include hand-pulling and cutting plants such as Chinese privet, English ivy, bamboo, and more. We recommend long sleeves in addition to long pants to help protect your arms from poison ivy and scratchy plants.

Trees Atlanta prioritizes the health and safety of our volunteers and staff. Volunteers must observe the following precautions:

  • Masks are recommended for unvaccinated volunteers when they are working within 6 feet of another person. Please bring a mask with you so you'll have it ready if someone requests you wear it.

  • Exercise social distancing of a minimum of 6 feet (please strive for 12 feet or more)

  • Additional personal hygiene requirements:

    • Cover coughs and sneezes with elbows

    • Refrain from touching one's face

    • Wear hair up or wear a hat to reduce face touching

  • If you experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to an individual with COVID-19, please stay home until you have completed your recommended quarantine

  • If you feel ill during the volunteer project, please go home

  • By volunteering at this project, you are participating on your own accord and accept possible risks associated with interacting with other people
