Leah Kelley, Concrete Jungle Farm Manager, will demonstrate the true meaning of the expression “if you love something, let it go” as she teaches us the fine art of pruning. Join Leah to learn how to get rid of branches in order to get a healthier tree and more delicious fruit.

9:30am - 12pm: Class and Volunteering at the Food Forest
Concrete Jungle transforms overlooked and underutilized fruit trees and land into a healthy food source for communities in need. To date, they have harvested, rescued and donated over 1.5 million pounds of fresh, healthy food.
About the Instructor:
Leah Kelley is a farm manager at Concrete Jungle’s Doghead Farm as well as a youth therapist specializing in horticultural therapy. Leah learned her fruit tree pruning skills from Global Growers and the great Robby ("Appleseed") Astrove.
Additional Event Information:
Ages 7 - Adult (Youth 17 and under must have an adult join them)
Wear: Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and sturdy, closed-toe shoes.
Bring: Bring water, hand pruners, loppers, and gloves if you have them.
