Who & Where: Celestial Care Solutions stewards the Permaculture and Herb orchard area of the Urban Food Forest at Browns Mill (UFFBM) in Southeast Atlanta. The site has a history of community food resilience. Previously, the Morgan Family farmed the whole 7.1 acres and neighbors tell stories of finding bags of fresh produce on their fence post. Today it is a City of Atlanta edible park. Food is planted in a way that mimics a natural forest with 3-7 layers of food and medicine for humans and other species that share this space (ex: pollinators, lizards, birds etc.). is the largest public community food forest in the nation. It is part of the City of Atlanta’s goal of ensuring Atlanta residents are a .5 acre of fresh affordable food by 2021. The site is a living classroom for the community to learn & grow fresh food for themselves. It is part of Celestial Care Solutions' goal of cultivating community health and wellness.
